Software for the lab, built with the lab
EMBRY is designed and built by Alive Technologies. It is developed alongside the embryologists who use it, in the clinics where it runs.
Who builds it
EMBRY is designed and built by Alive Technologies, a software team based in Skopje, North Macedonia. The platform is the team’s work in healthcare technology for IVF clinics and embryology laboratories.
It is in use in IVF clinics, among them Newborn Clinic, whose Chief Embryologist, Mimoza Adji-Krsteva, supervises the training of the embryo assessment models — bringing hands-on IVF laboratory experience into the datasets, annotation, and validation behind them.
That arrangement is the point rather than a detail. Lab software written at a distance from a lab tends to encode assumptions that do not survive contact with a busy morning at the bench.
What we are building
An end-to-end platform for embryo analysis, quality assessment, and IVF outcome prediction — combining computer vision, predictive analytics, and workflow automation across the treatment cycle.
Alongside it sits EmbryLab, where a clinic annotates its own images, builds a dataset from its own cases, and trains a model when there is enough data behind a given label to justify it.
How we build it
Four things we do not compromise on
Decision support, not replacement
Assessment output is guidance for an embryologist, never a ranking that decides a transfer. What a model detected is shown next to what a person recorded, so the two can be compared.
The clinic owns its models
Inference runs on standard frameworks rather than a sealed engine. A clinic can register a remote model, supply its own, or train one on its own cases.
The clinic holds its data
EMBRY runs on the clinic’s own server. Media is served through authenticated endpoints, and records stay inside the clinic.
Works with what you have
The platform is hardware-agnostic by design, so the equipment a lab already owns does not decide whether it can use modern AI.
